Baraka Yetu Sacco celebrates 20 years of success

Baraka Yetu Sacco celebrated 20 years of excellent financial services to members and concern to society.

“Our focus is to take services closer to members by leveraging technology for convenience and ease of access. Technology optimization is the trend and we are ready to reach more people. We have made it easier for our members to access financial services,” said Mr Isaack Gitonga, Chairman.

He attributed the Sacco’s exemplary growth over the years to members’ trust, goodwill, patronage, and prudent leadership and management.

The Society over 12,000 members are drawn from Macro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. In 2022, the Sacco advanced to members’ loans worth Ksh263.4 million highlighting its commitment to empower members by providing affordable loans.

“This Sacco has greatly empowered members to prosperity while maintaining an upward trajectory. 20 years of existence is no mean feat, its future looks brighter,” said Ms. Dolphine Aremo, Nairobi City Co-operative Director.

Mr. Thomas Osoro, the Sacco CEO, noted that for the last 20 years, they have been transforming members’ lives through financial deepening and inclusion, cultivating a culture of savings and advancing affordable credit.

“We have also invested in technology, including a mobile app and a robust mobile banking platform, while beefing up our cybersecurity. This has enhanced members’ experience and satisfaction. We are on the right growth path; we target to have Ksh500 million in total assets from the current Ksh300 million and a membership of 15,000 by the end of the year,” said Mr Osoro. The Sacco is licensed by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA).
