Bingwa Sacco is among co-operative societies serving large numbers of members in the country, pointing to the Deposit-Taking Society’s ability to offer the best customer care that ensures satisfaction through reliable and convenient banking solutions.
Last year, the Sacco membership significantly increased to 215,781 from 201,558 in 2020, which was an outstanding achievement. Mr. Francis Muriithi, Chairman Bingwa Sacco, said that the Sacco is focusing on uplifting its members’ social and economic status. The Sacco Board declared high annual returns to members for the Financial Year ended December 31st, 2021.
“Our goal is to ensure that all our members save regularly and access affordable services,” said Mr. Muriithi. He spoke during the Sacco’s 37th Annual General Meeting at Kerugoya Catholic Church Ground.
The Society is in the process of completing the installation of a new ICT system, which the chairman notes will be very efficient through Agency and Mobile Banking.Â
Mr. Muriithi said that the Sacco successfully used its internal funds for all its operations throughout the year. He urged members to apply for credit facilities for their development.Â
Mr. Muriithi, who was re-elected to the Board, assured members that the leadership would maintain high corporate governance, integrity, and ethics embedded in the Society’s corporate values and culture to attain high growth.
In 2021, financial reports presented to members showed that Bingwa Sacco made remarkable growth. The Sacco asset base topped Ksh6.468 billion from Ksh6.240 billion in 2020.Â
 “Our strength comes from our customers. We shall always work hard to satisfy them and give them the best customer care,” said the Sacco acting Chief Executive Officer Elizabeth Warui.
The award-winning Sacco also offers other services such as Insurance Covers, Investment Wings, Inua Jamii Payments, Mobile Banking Services, ATM -Visa Branded Sacco Link Cards, among others.
