The 2025 Economic Survey provides an impressive overview of the cooperative movement’s growth, highlighting significant achievements in various areas. Total assets reached an astounding Ksh 1.08 trillion, reflecting an 11.2% increase. The cooperative model also saw its membership rise to over 7.3 million, with 420,900 new members joining. Financial performance remained robust, with loan income surging by 14.7%, while investment income experienced a remarkable increase of 52.0%.

A significant 31.8% of homeowners reported that they constructed their homes through partnerships with Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs). The total regulated SACCO assets grew by 11.21%, surging from KSh 971.96 billion to KSh 1,090.87 billion in just one year. Loans to members rose by 11.1%, amounting to Ksh 842.8 million, reinforcing the strong financial health of these cooperatives. Overall, these figures underscore the vital role that the cooperative movement plays in promoting financial inclusion and national development.
