In its 15 years of existence, the fast-growing and stable Sacco has continued to empower communities by promoting a savings and investment culture while providing affordable credit.
The Society has progressively registered a positive financial growth and tremendous membership increase. It has members drawn from different parts of the country.
At Kingdom Sacco products and services are developed to enhance the economic welfare of members largely made up of small and medium income earners in the informal sector and other stakeholders.
Servant-hood, integrity, excellence, humility, leadership by example, and achievement through sacrifice are primary tenets highly regarded at the Sacco. The Sacco has endeavored to make members understand that long term, sustainable success must be based on carefully established ethical platforms.
The Sacco as a community-based savings and credit society upholds biblical principles and values, and has complied with all laws and regulations governing co-operative sector in Kenya.
Background
Kingdom Sacco Society Limited was established in 1999 by the Life Reformation Centre with the aim of improving the economic and social livelihood of its members. The Sacco was registered with the Ministry of Cooperatives on 21st January 2000 under the Cooperative Societies Act No.12 of 1997. It is currently governed by the Sacco Societies Act of 2008 and its by-laws.
The Sacco’s membership was initially drawn from churches in Kenya affiliated to a global Network of Churches called Congress WBN (C-WBN) which continues be the context within which Kingdom Sacco is developed. C-WBN is a Global Network of Churches and other related Kingdom initiatives focused on effecting human, social and national transformation through the propagation of value-based development principles, patterns and approaches.
The Sacco has since opened to the other churches and the general members of the public that are willing to be governed by biblical principles and values.
While the Society serves all people and employs only credible persons, the Management of the Sacco remains under the close oversight of the leadership of Congress WBN. The Society is managed by a Board of Directors structured into various committees, while the day to day running of the Society is entrusted to the Chief Executive Officer and the staff.
Kingdom Sacco is a member of the Congress Corporate, a global network of interrelated businesses and business leaders whose vision, resources, products and people are linked together in one unified purpose of effecting human, social and national transformation.
The Sacco runs two programmes Ufalme Housing that enables members acquire property and Youth Heritage that helps equip young people with entrepreneurial skills, character and values.
