Stima DT Sacco and Pesalink Launch Kenya’s Fastest Instant Payment Solution for Sacco Member

Stima DT Sacco has partnered with Integrated Payment Services Limited (IPSL), the Pesalink instant payments network operator, to introduce Kenya’s most seamless and affordable instant payment solution for Sacco members.

This partnership is one of the first in Kenya to fully integrate Sacco operations with a national instant payments platform, bridging the gap between traditional Sacco services and modern banking systems. More than 220,000 members can now send and receive up to Ksh 999,999 per transaction instantly through the M-Stima App and USSD.

Sacco merchants and business members can receive money directly into their accounts via simple account-to-account payments from other Pesalink participants. This means that customers can pay instantly and affordably into the Sacco account using their preferred payment app or USSD service.

Members can also carry out salary disbursements, supplier payments, loan disbursements, and savings transfers without waiting for branch hours. This enhancement improves operational efficiency and provides peace of mind to customers.

An important new feature of Pesalink for Sacco members is name validation, which allows recipients’ account names to be verified before finalizing a transaction. Each payment generates real-time confirmations and digital receipts, reducing errors and reconciliation delays for Sacco staff.

“We became the first Sacco in Kenya to connect fully to a national instant payments platform,” said Dr. Gamaliel Hassan, CEO, Stima DT Sacco. “For us, this collaboration is about more than just technology; it is a commitment— a commitment to inclusion, convenience, and ensuring that every member, every business, every chama, and every staff member experiences the ease and reliability of modern digital finance.”

“By combining the extensive membership of Stima SACCO with Pesalink’s instant payment capabilities, this partnership creates Kenya’s first SACCO-to-bank instant payment ecosystem at scale. It enhances operational efficiency, supports cash flow management for SMEs, and encourages broader adoption of digital channels across the cooperative sector,” added Mr Gituku Kirika, IPSL CEO.

“We are setting a new benchmark for Saccos by enabling instant payment interoperability with all leading mobile and USSD payment and banking channels. This model is one that other Saccos across the country can adopt, helping us all to embed digital financial services and foster genuine economic inclusion.”
