25 Professionals from Four Continents to be Honored as ICUDE

The Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU) is set to honor 25 individuals from four continents who have met the four required criteria to qualify for the International Credit Union Development Educator (ICUDE) Class of 2024.

The awardees will be recognized at the Global DE Social event, which will be held in conjunction with the 2024 World Credit Union Conference (WCUC 2024) in Boston (USA) on July 23. The ICUDE Class of 2024 comprises three professionals from Africa: Triza Magreta from MUDI Savings and Credit Cooperative in Malawi, Bernand Bingab from UEW Credit Union/Ghana Cooperative Credit Unions Association in Ghana, and Joan Atuhurra from the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Association (ACCOSCA) in Uganda.

WFCU coordinates the ICUDE application and review process in partnership with the seven active CUDE programs worldwide, which includes Africa DE (ADE) that is coordinated by the Africa Confederation of Co-operative Savings & Credit Associations (ACCOSCA).

To qualify for the ICUDE designation, each applicant must complete their home country’s DE program, in addition to fulfilling three other criteria. Credit Union Development Educators are committed to living the cooperative principles embedded in the global credit union movement and within each country that is home to credit unions.
