The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) has announced that Elissa McCarter LaBorde will be leaving her role as President and CEO.
Michael Lawrence, WOCCU Board of Directors Chair, expressed gratitude for her dedication during a challenging period in the organization’s history. He acknowledged her significant contributions to WOCCU as it navigates strategic changes.
He said the WOCCU Board is realigning its focus on essential trade association functions and advocacy efforts. In the meantime, Paul Treinen will step in as Interim CEO for both WOCCU and the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU).
Treinen, who retired from WOCCU in 2023 after a successful seven-year tenure as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, will guide the organization as they begin the search for a permanent leader.
