Regulated Saccos demonstrated impressive growth during the 2024 financial year, showcasing the resilience of the sub-sector despite the economic challenges faced by their members.
According to the Sacco Supervision Report 2024 released by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA), the number of Sacco members increased to 7.40 million in 2024, up from just under 3.08 million in 2014.
Total assets grew to Ksh 1.08 trillion by December 2024, and by August 2025, they had risen to Ksh 1.13 trillion.
In terms of deposits, total deposits reached Ksh 749.43 billion in 2024, and by August 2025, this amount had increased to Ksh 806.37 billion.
