Saving and Credit Co-operative Societies have been urged to explore new business frontiers to remain relevant in the dynamic world.
Co-operatives Commissioner Geoffrey Njangombe said Sacco s should develop new products and services that will satisfy customers’ needs.
He was speaking during the launch of Shariah-compliant products at Stima DT Sacco, where he commended its management for the initiative.Â
He noted that the State Department of Co-operatives had developed policy and by-laws for Shariah co-operatives.
Nairobi Director of Co-operatives Dolphine Aremo lauded Stima DT Sacco, noting it was the second wealthiest society in the country.
She said Nairobi has over two million members of co-operatives that command a portfolio of over Ksh 400 billion.
