The Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) has invited applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), seeking a visionary and results-driven leader to guide the growth and stability of Kenya’s SACCO industry.
In a vacancy notice referenced SASRA/HRA/1000/09/Vol. I (153), the Authority said the successful candidate will provide strategic direction, operational leadership and policy implementation to support its mandate of licensing, regulating and supervising SACCOs. The CEO will be responsible for driving institutional strategy, strengthening governance, optimizing ICT systems, mobilizing resources and ensuring prudent financial management and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
SASRA, which operates under the Ministry of Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, plays a central role in safeguarding member deposits and promoting a financially inclusive, member-centric and stable SACCO sector.
According to the job specifications, applicants must have at least ten years’ experience in financial management, co-operative practice, law, finance or economics, with a minimum of five years in senior management. Membership in a recognized professional body, demonstrated strategic leadership and proficiency in relevant computer applications are also required.
Candidates will further be expected to meet the integrity requirements under Chapter Six of the Constitution by providing clearance certificates from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Higher Education Loans Board, Kenya Revenue Authority, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and an approved Credit Reference Bureau.
The successful applicant will be engaged on a four-year renewable contract, subject to satisfactory performance, and will report to the Board of Directors.
