CPA Solomon Atsiaya, the Kenya National Police DT SACCO Chief Executive Officer, has been elected Executive Committee Chairperson of the Co-operative University of Kenya (CUK) Alumni Association (CUKAA).
Atsiaya took the oath of office following his election to lead the association, which brings together graduates of the university to support its growth and strengthen ties between alumni and the institution.
The Co-operative University of Kenya plays a central role in supporting Kenya’s cooperative movement, offering specialized education, training, research and consultancy services aimed at building professionalism and sustainability across the sector. The university equips cooperative managers, staff and members with governance and financial management skills, while also conducting research and participating in national task forces that help shape cooperative laws and development policy. It further provides technical support to cooperatives, unions and government bodies on management and best practice, and works with regional and international organizations to advance the Social and Solidarity Economy.
Atsiaya’s election to the CUKAA chairmanship reflects the growing engagement of SACCO sector leaders with the university’s alumni network, as the institution continues to position itself as a key training and policy resource for the region’s cooperative movement.
