How Kenya National Police DT SACCO Turned Customer Service Week into a Member Engagement Drive

Kenya National Police DT SACCO turned Customer Service Week 2026 into more than a calendar celebration. Across its countrywide branch network, the SACCO used the occasion to draw members closer, hear their views and show that service excellence is a responsibility the whole institution shares.

In a series of messages honouring both members and staff, the SACCO framed the week as a practical engagement drive. Its central message, “Your needs matter. Your feedback counts,” invited members to visit the headquarters or any branch, speak with staff, get help and learn about the financial solutions on offer.

The approach gave members a chance to meet employees outside the usual cycle of transactions, talk through their needs and say plainly how their experience has been.

Why engagement matters in a member-owned SACCO

In a cooperative, members are more than customers. They are participants whose trust and continued involvement help sustain the institution. For a SACCO, then, engagement is part of how the organisation stays healthy, not an optional extra.

The SACCO kept the week lively and interactive, with cake, shared moments with staff and a prize wheel that gave members a chance to win gifts. The festive mood served a clear purpose: it gave the SACCO a friendly setting to thank members and strengthen ties with them.

Still, the lasting value of such a campaign depends on what happens afterwards. Members will judge the SACCO by their everyday experiences: how fast their enquiries are handled, how well complaints are resolved and how easy it is to access services.

Chief Executive Officer Solomon Atsiaya, MBS, and his team restated their commitment to going the extra mile, listening to members and delivering services that make a real difference. That focus on listening points to the need to gather feedback and act on it, so that service gaps are found, concerns are addressed and the member experience keeps improving.

Teamwork across departments was another hallmark of the campaign. The SACCO’s messaging brought together Member Care, Marketing, FOSA, Credit, Finance, Kenya Police Investment Co-operative, Risk and Compliance, and other functions under one shared service commitment.

The logic is simple: members experience the SACCO as a single institution, whichever department handles their request. Good service therefore relies on coordination, clear communication and cooperation across the organisation.

Staff activities, including themed dress days and football-inspired jerseys, reinforced the point by showing employees as one team with a common goal. The campaign made clear that exceptional service is not the job of frontline staff alone but a commitment that runs through the whole institution.
