Jamii Sacco has made major strides in embracing technology to boost business and enhance service delivery. “We believe that as an organization, to grow our business, we must be able to adapt the new technology to do business in a manner that will deliver quality products and services to our members and to remain competitive in this business,” said CPA Daniel Achieng’, Jamii Sacco CEO.
The current Sacco Strategic Plan is leveraging technology to allow members to access financial services conveniently. Last year, the Sacco won the best Tier 1 Sacco award in technology optimization during the Ushirika Day celebration.
“We have in place a new system with tight controls to safeguard members’ money. It allows seamless transactions for members depositing money directly to their accounts from bank to bank, via paybill number or internet banking,” said the CEO.
With enhanced Sacco operational efficiency, members will soon be able to apply for loans, register, and access other services online in real time. “Our members enjoy Sacco services in the comfort of their homes and wherever they are,” said CPA Achieng’ in an interview with Co-op News.
The Sacco has also partnered with Co-op bank allowing its diaspora members to send money through pesalink directly to their account.
“All forms will be paperless to cut down printing costs. With our robust system, we can deliver quality services to members safely and reliably,” he said. “The system security is watertight.”
Leveraging on technology, the Sacco management plans to double membership by the year 2025. Currently, the Sacco has over 25,000 members.
