Kenya National Police DT SACCO Staff Among 2025 ICUDE Graduates

 

John Okumu Juma from the Kenya National Police DT SACCO is one of nine global leaders recognized for their commitment to cooperative impact. The Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU) welcomed these professionals into the global credit union community as part of the International Credit Union Development Educators (ICUDE) Class of 2025.

This esteemed designation honors individuals who have shown exceptional dedication to cooperative values, global engagement, and the advancement of financial inclusion. This year’s class features professionals from across Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States, reflecting the collaborative spirit and cross-cultural strength that defines the credit union movement.

The other individuals recognized as part of the 2025 ICUDE class include:

Africa:

– Foday Sanyang, National Association of Cooperative Credit Unions, Gambia.

Caribbean:

– Curlene Marcelle-Mars, COPOS Credit Union Co-Operative Society Ltd., Trinidad & Tobago.

– Shelly Slater, Neal & Massey Credit Union Co-Operative Society Ltd., Trinidad & Tobago.

– Alin Verneuil, St. Lucia Worker’s Credit Union Ltd., St. Lucia.

United States:

– Julie Gamblin, True Sky Credit Union.

– James Gagliano, Lanco Federal Credit Union.

– Karen Madry, Afena Federal Credit Union.

– Randy Smith, CUInsight.

To earn the ICUDE title, each graduate must complete a national or regional Development Education (DE) program and demonstrate meaningful international engagement that strengthens the cooperative movement worldwide.

The ICUDE Class of 2025 will be formally acknowledged at the Global DE Social, hosted during the World Credit Union Conference (WCUC) in Stockholm, Sweden, this July. This global gathering celebrates international connections, shared values, and the impact of purpose-driven leadership.

  • WFCU partners closely with DE programs globally to support the growth of cooperative leadership through education, including the Africa DE program operated by the African Confederation of Co-operative Savings & Credit Associations (ACCOSCA).
