Ndege Sacco Society Ltd has once again been crowned for excellence in governance.
The Deposit-Taking Sacco won three Champions of Governance (COG) awards that were presented to its official during a gala night held at Movenpick Hotel in Nairobi.
The Society’s highest standards of practice of good governance enabled it bag the second runners-up award for the COG Co-operative Sector. The Sacco Board of Directors Chairman Mr Daniel Sang won the COG Chairman of the Year Award while the Sacco Chief Executive Officer, Mr Gilbert Bett took home the second runners-up trophy for the CEO of the Year award.
The COG Award aims at promoting practices in good governance through recognition of practice and application of good governance in both the public and private sector entities. Ndege Chai Sacco’s huge win highlights its leadership and management adherence to good corporate governance.
The Sacco has continually emerged victorious at national awards having recently won three national Ushirika Day awards for outstanding performance. It was voted the best in risk management countrywide at position three and top among agricultural-based societies.
The Sacco also emerged third best-managed DT Sacco in the agricultural-based category pointing to its good governance and prudent management.
Distinguished in best practices in risk management, Ndege Chai Sacco has continued to perform very well, receiving several accolades for exemplary service delivery to members.
In the past it has been feted for Gender Balancing at the Board Level, being Best in Education and Training to Staff, Members and the Board, Best Insured, and having the Lowest Expenditure to Income Ratio.
Since 1978, Ndege Chai Sacco has remained committed to transforming members’ livelihoods. It is among SASRA-regulated Saccos that are growing rapidly in the country by offering members an opportunity to save and access affordable loans to develop and improve their economic and social welfare.
