KUSCCO Launches 2026 SACCO Data Collection Drive

The Kenya Union of Savings & Credit Cooperatives (KUSCCO) has rolled out a nationwide data collection exercise aimed at capturing comprehensive statistics from all SACCOs in Kenya.

The initiative seeks to equip the apex body with robust, up-to-date information to advocate more effectively for the sector, inform government policy decisions, and better showcase the economic and social contributions of SACCOs to national development.

“All SACCOs are encouraged to complete and submit the data collection form that has already been shared,” KUSCCO stated. The deadline for submission is 18 June 2026. Kenya’s SACCO sector remains a cornerstone of financial inclusion, serving millions of members with savings and credit services. Recent estimates put membership above 7 million and deposits nearing KSh 1.2 trillion, underscoring the industry’s significant role in grassroots economic empowerment.

The exercise comes at a critical time for the sector, which is navigating governance reforms and rebuilding public trust following challenges in recent years. Accurate, aggregated data is expected to support evidence-based advocacy, enhance regulatory engagement, and highlight SACCOs’ impact in areas such as affordable housing, agriculture, and SME financing.

KUSCCO urged all affiliated and non-affiliated SACCOs to participate actively.

“Your data matters. Help document and demonstrate your SACCO’s contribution to national development.” SACCO leaders and managers have been reminded to treat the exercise as a strategic opportunity to position the movement strongly in ongoing policy dialogues.

All SACCOs are encouraged to complete and submit the data collection form that has already been shared.

Submission Deadline: 18 June 2026
